This sand tray is perfect for your child to work on spelling, writing and maths! It comes with 5 slots for building words with alphabets (English and Bahasa!) or for simple addition or subtraction with numbers. Fill the tray area with some sensory fillers so your child can practice tracing alphabets, numbers or words with their fingers. Use playdough for a different experience or manipulatives for doing mathematical operations. The uses are endless!
Consonant Vowel Consonant (CVC) is a word made up of a consonant, vowel, and consonant sound.
Phonics introduces the sound of each letter and CVC is the start of blending phonics sounds together to read words. Using the consonant-vowel-consonant method is the simplest way for little children to put together their first words. It is amazing for both children and parent when the child begins the transition from recognizing and identifying letters and associating those letters with unique sounds to sound out simple words.
Children below the age of 7 do not have the requisite bone structure and finger strength to hold pens and pencils in the correct manner and for prolonged periods. Using their fingers to trace provides them with an opportunity to practice writing without the additional difficulty of learning to hold a pencil.
